Bug Description

Hi there!

Looking for a way to update our freeradius servers, (2.1.x and 2.2.x are on EOL http://freeradius.org/version2.html) hoping that on the next Ubuntu LTS there will be 3.x freeradius version (Centos 7 already has 3.0.x rpm package) found that the free-radius package version still on the 2.x branch.

Developers mark 3.x as the stable version of free radius so i think a new LTS should package that version.

FreeRADIUS 3.0 will be in ubuntu zesty/17.04. Backports for yakkety/16.10 and xenial 16.04 are here:

freeradius is stuck, because it now depends on collectd, which is in universe. Submitting an updated build that drops collectd support.

The freeradius dependencies are cleared, but there was a regression in Debian wrt. autopkgtests. That is also fixed (also in Debian), so freeradius 3.x should migrate to the release pocket soon.

    - Configuration is stored in /etc/freeradius/3.0/.

    - 42abc545 ('Remove all use of dpkg-statoverride') included a
      non-dpkg-statoverride-related removal.
