When a bug report is displayed in a source package context (such as <http://launchpad.dev/ubuntu/+source/mozilla-firefox/+bug/1>), details of that source package are displayed in a box in the left column: latest release version, uploader, maintainer, maintainer defaults (urgency, component, and architectures), and distribution release of the initial upload.
I removed this box in Launchpad 1.1.8, in favor of showing the latest release version inside each distribution source package row of the Affects table. This caused pain to bug triagers who had been using other information in the box, so I've restored the box in bug 134220 (only for distribution source package contexts).
However, we want to make the bug report page more context-independent, so we need to find some other way of presenting the necessary information.

<Fujitsu> "Initially uploaded to" I use, but very rarely. It's useful for detecting packages that were synced from Joe Random's repository in Hoary/Breezy, and not touched since.
<sabdfl> mpt, Hobbsee: because, in the case of syncs, we should be able to show that a package is essentially unchanged from its original upload
<Fujitsu> Urgency isn't used, and architectures are overriden.

One possibility is to present this information as a tooltip for each package in the Affects table.
