Bug Description

When clicking on an update you get a dialog show the application icon/name, it's not very useful though ... is that dialog supposed to describe the update? That dialog doesn't include much info, it only has the icon/name/short desciption, no info about the version nor changelog (update-manager fetches those from our server, gnome-software should do that as well)

It does that via PackageKit, likely that functionality is missing in your aptd implementation.

---------------
gnome-software (3.19.91~git20160225.dbf5b5d-0ubuntu2) xenial; urgency=medium

  * debian/patches/apt-plugin.patch:
    - Set license based on APT information
    - Show update information (LP: #1549503) (LP: #1549500)
  * debian/patches/ubuntu-provenance.patch:
    - Drop, now done by apt-plugin.patch
