Bug Description

Impact
======
This is the second SRU for Ubuntu 16.10 for evolution. It includes 3.22.2 and 3.22.3.

https://git.gnome.org/browse/evolution/tree/NEWS/?h=gnome-3-22
https://git.gnome.org/browse/evolution/log/?h=gnome-3-22

Test Case
=========
After installing this update, please restart your computer.

Verify that evolution still works as well as it did before.

Optionally, you can even go through some of the fixed bugs to verify the bug and the fix but there are a lot of fixed bugs!

Regression Potential
====================
Low to Moderate. This is a substantial update with 90 or so commits.
On the other hand, these are focused on fixing bugs. This may be the last official 3.22 evolution release. This is the same version that is being shipped by other GNOME 3.22 distros.

Other Info
==========
This update depends on evolution-data-server 3.22.3. See the note on that SRU bug (LP: #/1639926) for information about the persistent Google authentication issue.

      - set X-Ubuntu-Use-Langpack so launchpad translations are used
    + debian/patches/alarm-notify-nodisplay.patch:
      don't show the alarm notifier in gnome-session-properties

evolution (3.22.2-1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * New upstream release.
  * Bump e-d-s dependencies and build-dependencies to 3.22.2.
  * Remove debian/patches/git_fix-reply-with-inline-images.patch and
    debian/patches/git_fix-saving-email-signatures.patch, merged upstream.

I'd really like this too. The git_fix-reply-with-inline-images.patch that is already included in .1 is not working for me - I'm still experiencing that crash. I'm really hoping that 3.22.2 will fix it but I'd rather not upgrade to zesty to find that out.

Brian Murray (brian-murray) wrote : Please test proposed package

Hello Jeremy, or anyone else affected,

Accepted evolution into yakkety-proposed. The package will build now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/3.22.3-0ubuntu0.1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how to enable and use -proposed.Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in advance!

I upgraded to zesty before I saw movement on this, but I can confirm that 3.22.3 in zesty fixes the problem I was experiencing with inline images.

Thanks, Mike.

I confirm that evolution 3.22.3-0ubuntu0.1 works fine here. (I do most of my email via a web browser though.). Because of how important it is to fix the broken Google authentication, I also backported the proposed evolution and evolution-data-server 3.22.3 to the GNOME3 Staging PPA. I've not seen any bugs or heard any complaints from the new update yet.

SRU Team, be sure to accept the evolution-data-server SRU (LP: #1639926) before or at the same time as you accept evolution.

---------------
evolution (3.22.3-0ubuntu0.1) yakkety; urgency=medium

  * New upstream bugfix release (LP: #1639942)
  * Bump minimum evolution-data-server to 3.22.3
  * Drop git patches applied in new release
  * Add revert-help-change.patch:
    - Don't change the help text now for a minor correction
      since it will only break translations there
