During CD installation - when running 'parted'
selected manual partitioning
I found the dialog unclear as to what 'parted' would do with partitions that were already in use.
For each partition I did not want to be used I selected the option - 'do not use'. If I did not, my gut feeling, was that the install would have used both swaps and maybe even other existing linux partitions.
This worked fine until the LVM was selected to be 'not used'. The 'do not use' option was not accepted/changed - no error. Work around was to change the LVM partition to 'use as ext3' then tell install/'parted dialog' 'not to use'.

Confirmed by code inspection. This is the fault of either partman-basicmethods (which implements "don't use") or partman-lvm (which puts the lvm flag back even after partman-basicmethods has told it to reset the method). I'm not sure quite which yet.

Changed in parted:
importance: Undecided → High
status: New → Confirmed
