Bug Description

Binary package hint: analog

The otherwise excellent program doesn't recognise Windows Vista - the detection code is hardwired into tree.c and the author has 'too busy' to update it since December 2004.

http://lists.meer.net/pipermail/analog-help/2006-November/020007.html has the fix, and a similar one is required for x64 versions of Vista and XP.

According to MSDN[1] the Platform Token in the User-Agent string is unaffected by 32 vs 64 bit.
Attached a patch to include Windows Vista (ugh) as a known version of Windows.

Updated my patch to include support for Windows 7. Correlating current web server logs and an MSDN article[1] I am pretty sure that this is correct.

It's still not been added to the upstream (Debian) package or the Ubuntu one though.

Hi, I think Chuck wanted to try and get this patch integrated into the upstream project (http://www.analog.cx/).

I have not tried getting this into upstream. AFAIK the project has not has not been actively maintained since 2005, which is a terrible shame. I have previously tried contacting the author (a few years back) but never received a response.
