Still an issue? can you reproduce that with another user account? Can you tell us a few steps in order to reproduce the bug? thanks.

may you forward it upstream since you're facing the issue? for forwarding instructions please have a look to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME ; leaving this as incomplete until that, thanks for your help.

Just as an aside, I have the same issue, whenever I try to view or save an attachment, I get the "Error while Saving attachment." with a subtext of "Could not write data: Success"

To my understanding this has already been resolved on (unknown) update on trunk. I am currently running SVN trunk, and I do not see the issue anymore. It was present until near 2.23.5.

It was indeed introduced somewhere between 2.22.1 and 2.23.4.

So... for those running 2.23.4... please wait a bit, upstream is releasing the new milestone (2.23.5) Real Soon Now.

Upstream confirmed this was fixed on 2.23.4-2.23.5, and will be available on next upstream refresh. I also adjusted the upstream link, and I am marking this fix committed.

In case someone does not want to wait (it annoyed me for sure), I took the upstream patch and converted it to a debian patch to be added to evolution-data-server-2.23.4/debian/patches. This fixes the problem if libcamel1.2-12 is updated.

I cannot confirm that this bug has been fixed. Testing on Ubuntu 8.10 Alpha with all updates, this problem remains, the only difference being that currently it gives no error message at all. Current version of evolution-data-server is 2.23.92-0ubuntu1.

Maybe someone should tell the GNOME people that things till do not work. In this launchpad thread, "Fix released" status cannot be changed.

I am still having this problem and have been unable to work the last two days because of it... 2.22.3.0 and up to 2.23... I see above it is recommended to go to 2.23.4; however I am afraid to do that because it requires the removal of multiple other programs that I use (I am running Hardy). Is there another fix?

thank you very much
