Binary package hint: vlc

Im currently on the Intrepid repo, but I do believe that along with Intrepid, Hardy also has an old revision of VLC.

As of 27/06/08, the current release version of VLC is 0.8.6h whereas Intrepid has 0.8.6e.

In between the three revisions of VLC since e, there is a number of bug fixes that are needed.

I recommend these should be backported wherever possible as I see no risk to doing so.

    - Clean up debian/vlc.desktop.
    - Make vlc recommend vlc-plugin-pulse.
    - Install link to plugin in xulrunner 1.9 plugin directory.
    - Build against xul rather then iceape.
    - Rename the upstream tarball to match old Ubuntu convention.
    - Modify Maintainer value to match the DebianMaintainerField
      specification.
