Bug Description

Binary package hint: memaker

Part of debian/control for 0.9.4-0ubuntu1 on hardy i386 reads:

 "It is recommended
that you also install the python-imaging librarys to no only
 improved graphics but speed."

This should be (three changes):

 "It is recommended
that you also install the python-imaging libraries to not only
 improve graphics but speed."

I can confirm that this bug is still present in memaker 0.9.4-0ubuntu3. I will prepare a debdiff to fix this bug.

I see that there's also an outstanding typo from bug 239171 which hasn't been fixed in the hardy package, so I've included that as well in case it can be incorporated into the hardy package.

Tom,

When you are working on a bug, you should set the status to "In Progress" and assign it to yourself. That way, we won't have duplicate efforts like we had here. You should also use this format in your changelog entry to ensure that the bug gets marked as "Fix Released" when the patch is uploaded: (LP: $244084) instead of "per LP bug 244084".

After looking closer at your patch Tom, it appears that you patched an older version of memaker (0.9.4-0ubuntu2). The current version of memaker is 0.9.4-0ubuntu3. Also, Bug #239171 has already been patched. You also created a patch for hardy. Since intrepid is the current dev release of Ubuntu, all patches should be created for intrepid. Thank you for trying to patch this bug, and I hope you will learn from this experience. I'm looking forward to seeing you contribute more in the future.

Ok, thanks. I'll try and spend some more time learning the rules of the road...

Are you saying the only way to get the current version patched in hardy is to backport the dev package from intrepid? I'm not too familiar with the whole process, but this seems to me like something we'd want to fix in the hardy version too (along with a few other bugs, such as bug 239171 and particularly bug 214401 which prevents install if python2.4 is installed).

Once the patch has been uploaded to intrepid, you can request a Stable Release Update (SRU) to try and get the changes added in Hardy. The wiki has more information about this procedure. Once again, keep up the good work.
