Binary package hint: blubuntu-look

This meta package misses installing the gtk2-engines-ubuntulooks package which the gnome appearance app advised me is required for the blubuntu theme.

Confirmed

The following extra packages will be installed:

  blubuntu-wallpapers tango-icon-theme

Menu System > Prefs > Appearance

ubuntulooks must be installed.

I'm able to confirm this too. Looks like it is a missing dependency on gtk2-engines-ubuntulooks. I'll submit a patch to fix this.

Hi Nick,

Shouldn't blubuntu-theme be the one to depend on the engine?

You should check what each package contains and so which one
needs it.

Also, I can't apply your debdiff, did you generate it in the normal way?

Thanks,

James

Hi James,

I checked the blubuntu packages, and it looks like the blubuntu-look package was correct. I also install from the .deb, and it worked successfully.

Not sure what happened with the debdiff, but I'm attaching a newly generated one which should work.

Thanks

Hi,

I just looked in the package blubuntu-theme is contains the gtkrc
that specifies ubuntulooks. How did you determine that it should
be blubuntu-look?

blubuntu-look ships the meta-theme, so it's only then it will show
up in System->Preferences->Appearance. However, I imagine
you could install just -theme and then enable the gtk theme, which
wouldn't work. That's the reason I think it should be on -theme
and not -look.

Thanks,

James

Hi James,

Here's a new patch with the new dependency on blubuntu-theme. I tested it, and it works successfully.
