package kpresenter-kde4 None failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite `/usr/share/pixmaps/kpresenter.xpm', which is also in package kpresenter-data

Confirming.
It makes me wonder what to do, though. It wouldn't be a good idea to just go removing the file from either one of the packages. I guess somebody would have to patch koffice or koffice2 to install the icon with a different name, and for kpresenter (or -kde4) to use the different icon name.

Could it not be set that the kde3 and kde4 versions conflict? Or is that not a proper solution?

Uploading to kubuntu-members-kde4 (via ftp to ppa.launchpad.net):
  koffice2_1.9.98.1-0ubuntu2.dsc: done.
  koffice2_1.9.98.1-0ubuntu2.diff.gz: done.
  koffice2_1.9.98.1-0ubuntu2_source.changes: done.
Successfully uploaded packages.

Still same today, packages up to date, repos up to date

I also experienced this problem in jaunty (64bit).
kpresenter-kde4 version that won't install as described above: 1:1.9.98.6-0ubuntu1

The debian installer doesn't remove kpresenter !. I removed it as a
separate entity, and was THEN able to re-install koffice-kde4. Simple
... when you find it !

Still doesn't Conflict with kpresenter-data in Karmic as of today.

As ShaneK said, the fix is simply:

  dpkg --purge kpresenter-data
  apt-get -f install

The last command should fix the situation if it was broken; if it wasn't, you can install kpresenter with:

  apt-get install kpresenter-kde4

kpresenter-kde4 needs to conflict kpresenter-data (kde3 package), otherwise file conflicts occur

This bug was fixed in the package koffice2 - 1:2.0.2-2ubuntu2
