usplash does not work with external monitors

Bug Description

Intrepid's kernel switched from vesafb to uvesafb. After the general trouble with this is solved (bug 246269, bug 243682), my remaining problem is that it still does not work with my external monitor on the docking station. The screen just goes completely black as soon as usplash starts.

Dell Latitude D430, Intel GMA945, external TFT connected through DVI. Is there any further info I can provide?

I can confirm this with a Dell Latitude D530. Same chipset. VGA connection to a LCD monitor.

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to check and see if this issue remains with the more recent Jaunty 9.04 release? I unforunately don't have the same hw/chipset to try to test myself. Thanks.
