Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools

To reproduce this bug run time-admin from a terminal.
Then press "Alt+C" to push the "Close" button and to close the application.
Nothing happens.
In the terminal the following warning appears:
(time-admin:9236): Gtk-WARNING **: Couldn't find a target for a mnemonic activation.

I think this happens because "Alt+C" access key is bound to two different actions: "Close" and "Configuration".

I am able to confirm this issue under a fully updated Lucid Lynx with gnome-system-tools 2.29.92.x, Actually only one that works fine is for getting help (Alt + h), shorcuts for options "Configuration", "Time" and "Close" do not work.

I'm thinking of some 2 solutions:
1. We just delete the Mnemonic widget on the label "Congifiguration",
2. We change the label from "Configuration" to "Sync Configuration" to make it as "Alt + S"

The label "Time" also can't work with "Alt + T". I'm trying to fix that too.

Patch Updated. "Configuration" uses Alt + G, "Time" uses Alt + T

Pedro: I think you should wait before applying this patch in Lucid. As it is now, it would break translations of the label. Best would be to wait for it being applied upstream with PO files updates, and packaging it when 2.30.1 is released.

Milan thanks for the comment, that's why I've assigned it to the canonical-desktop-team so they can have a review on this :-) Thanks all.

Upstream had some minor issues with the patch, however if you resubmit sorting the minor issues it looks like it will get in. From the upstream bug report:

"Ah, good catch indeed! So this completely useless mnemonic was preventing the
Close button from being activated...

If you provide a formatted patch with a title and description, I'll commit it
ASAP.

Note that if you wish this patch to be applied to the stable 2.30.x series,
you'd have to update the translations too by running:
sed -i -e "s/_Configuration:/Confi_guration/g" *.po
from the po/ dir of the source tree, and add the changes to the patch too. This
will ensure we don't break translations."
