Bug Description

Binary package hint: alsa-utils

A lot of modern laptops ship with webcams in their LCD displays. These laptops tend to offer both an analog means to record as well as a digital mic built into the webcam.

Users who have paid extra for the webcam will want to be using the digital microphone anyway, so we should set this as the default. Users w/o a webcam should be unaffected.

Do you happen to know the mixer names of these controls? It helps to know this moreso to ensure that changing such settings won't break sound on other cards.

  * debian/init: Default Digital Input Source to be Digital Mic 1 so that
users w/ a digital mic will be able to use it OOTB. (LP: #314188)

"Digital Input Source" is the most common control name. Daniel indicated to me that there were two different common ones for webcams "Digital Mic" & "Digital Mic 1", so the patch sets both.
