Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-media

The normal behavior of the scroll wheel on various volume widgets seems to be scroll-up to increase volume, scroll-down to decrease it. There are several widgets in the new gnome-volume-control (gnome-media 2.25.1-0ubuntu1 on Jaunty) which show the opposite behavior:

"Input volume" under the Input tab
Each of the individual application sliders under the Applications tab

They decrease volume on scroll-up, and increase on scroll-down.

Thanks for the report, not confirming that works fine for me, scrolling up increase the volume and scrolling down decrease it, could you try with another new user created on your system? thanks.

I've tried on my old laptop and it works as described on the report (wrong behavior), Sebastien also confirmed on IRC the wrong behavior, I've no idea why it works fine in this installation will try to investigate but I'll forward this upstream in the meantime, thanks for reporting.

I just updated, and now all volume sliders (input, application volume) scroll properly except for when I click on the icon so the little volume box pops up. Here, the scroll wheel is backwards for me.

I get normal scrolling - up increases volume - if I use the scroll wheel while the mouse is pointing at the icon in the panel. If I click on that icon and move the mouse down to the slider that appears, the effect of the scroll wheel is reversed.

It is still the same as described in the previous post in 9.04 (Jaunty). Please fix the reversed action in the pop up box.

I've got the same problem. Click the icon, and scroll up decreases volume and scroll down increases it. This is opposite to the behaviour when you hover over the icon.
