Bug Description

Upgrading from mysql-server-5.0 to mysql-server-5.1 doesn't work. First install mysql-server-5.0. Then try to install mysql-server-5.1. There are some file conflicts since mysql-server-5.1 doesn't replace mysql-server-core-5.0.

This bug was fixed in the package mysql-dfsg-5.1 - 5.1.31-1ubuntu2

---------------
mysql-dfsg-5.1 (5.1.31-1ubuntu2) jaunty; urgency=low

  * Support upgrades from 5.0 to 5.1: (LP: #319848).
    - debian/mysql-server-5.1.config: don't ask for root password when
      upgrading from a 5.0 install.
    - debian/control: mysql-server-5.1 conflicts and replaces
      mysql-server-core-5.0.
