do you get the issue every time you start the application? could you run echo $GTK_MODULES and gconftool-2 -R /apps/gnome_settings_daemon/gtk-modules and copy that to the bug?

yes, I have this issue every time. No possibility for me to launch this app.
~$ echo $GTK_MODULES
canberra-gtk-module:gail:atk-bridge
~$ gconftool-2 -R /apps/gnome_settings_daemon/gtk-modules
 gnomebreakpad = false
 gail:atk-bridge = /desktop/gnome/interface/accessibility

could you unset $GTK_MODULES and see if that makes a difference?

Re! Here's the result after unset GTK_MODULES

:~$ unset GTK_MODULES
:~$ echo $GTK_MODULES

:~$ gnome-system-log

no modification!

Could you try to obtain a valgrind log following the instructions at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Valgrind and attach the file to the bug report?

not sure why you are getting this issue but upstream commited a change to svn which should fix the error
