This bug is preventing me from completing my upgrade.

I do not have a graphical interface yet because xserver is not starting due to this bug:

Essentially, I am at a standstill until this is resolved or I am given a suggestion to temporarily resolve this. I welcome any recommendation or suggestion.

ran apt-get clean to empty the cache
ran apt-get update to refresh the packages in my system
ran apt-get dist-upgrade, upgraded my system without choking and fully
completed.

I've tried clearing my apt cache and updating, the available versions are:
chkconfig: 11.0-79.1-1ubuntu1
sysvinit: 2.86.ds1-61ubuntu11

Ubuntu jaunty does not have such a package version (11.0-79.1-1.2). Please
see the output from `apt-cache policy chkconfig' to find the source.
