Bug Description

Hi,

Under UNR, I get a different logout dialog depending on whether I press the power button, or hit "Quit...".

I think the same dialog should be used consistently, either by making netbook-launcher grab the event instead of GPM, or by having a configurable command for this in GPM.

Thanks for reporting and helping make Ubuntu better. Can you include screen shots of the two different dialogues as attachments to this bug report?

This isn't an upstream GPM bug, as GPM is doing as it is told and this problem exists only on netbooks. It appears that netbook-launcher (an Ubuntu package) should be used to address this. I'll look into filing an upstream netbook-launcher bug (which is here on Launchpad) once we have the screen shots. Thank you.

Sorry for the extra email, but why is this "won't fixed" in UNR Launcher? I believe the reporter has a good point re: the UNR launcher intercepting the power button event before GPM's dialogue shows up.

I guess we're not using the upstream projects to track bugs for for UNR packages anymore, but only the Ubuntu source packages.

Since this bug doesn't need upstreaming anymore and I know for sure the dialog in netbook-launcher does differ, I'm reopening it ;-)

@lool: Thanks for the info regarding UNR upstream reporting! I agree that this should be set triaged as a netbook-launcher bug. I've been trying to get GPM bugs organized and under control, so I'll mark as invalid in GPM since ubuntu netbook remix launcher shouldn't let GPM even open its dialogue box.

I think this can be safely closed now that we no longer have a dialog box that comes up for shutdown, thanks to the new indicator applet interface for shutdown functions. Please reopen and explain further if you feel there is still an unadressed issue here.
