Bug Description

Kubuntu Dapper Flight 5 Up-to-date.

I tried to add a "Web shortcut" with uppercase letters (DocU - DocUbuntu [was link for research in Ubuntu-fr wiki indeed]), but it was not working, up to when I tried to set it in lowercase (docu).

Nothing forbid me to set it in uppercase nor said me that it would not work.

So even show an alert message in configuration window (some kcmshell stuff) or allow uppercase web shortcuts.

I cannot reproduce this. I just created a URL link on my desktop with https://wiki.ubuntu.com/XglHowto and it worked fine? Have you updated and can you still reproduce this? Thank you.

I think you misunderstood the problem (or my explanation was bad)... The "Web Shortcuts" is the stuff that allows you to type "gg:Kubuntu" to search Kubuntu on Google, for example. It is configured in "Settings", "Configure Konqueror", "Web Shortcuts". If you define a new Web Shortcut with something like : DocU (for Documentation Ubuntu), you won't be able to use that shortcut. If your shortcut is docu or DOCU, it will work.

I can still reproduce this. => Reverting to "Confirmed".

N.B. "All uppercase" does not work here.

OK I did misunderstand you. Yes it does happen, though it appears to be by design. This would probably have to go to upstream KDE to get resolved.
