Bug Description

Binary package hint: zsnes

The current zsnes icon is extremely ugly and has a very small size as well.

We should at least update the icon to the 64 x 64 px icon: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Zsnes_icon.png

If we can take care of licensing issues (I'm not really clear on these), we could also try to use this icon, which is a lot larger (which makes it look nice when using tools like Gnome Do):

either way, at the very least, we should make the current icon a larger size, for some added polish.

I emailed the author of the deviantart icon requesting it be relicensed under GPL so it can be integrated more easily -- hopefully he agrees, and we can get a very nice looking icon for Ubuntu (and possibly in upstream as well!).

I contacted upstream via IRC and received some feedback for the icons:

They prefer the button colors from the super famicom: http://www.tea4two.jp/os_catalog/images/ITEM-SHVC-005.JPG

Since the official name of the project is ZSNES, they would prefer that the name be all capitalized.

SVG icon format preferred.

Tango compliance seen as good.

I have forwarded this feedback to the author of the deviantart icon. He let me know that he is willing to license his work under GPL as well, so it's looking good so far.

Activity seems to have stalled on this front, and I am going to give this up -- hope someone can create an icon that Nach and the team will like so that they can integrate it upstream.
