merge apt-cacher 1.6.8 testing to apt-cacher 1.6.8ubuntu1 karmic

I'm not fully understanding the process, so I'll give it a miss for now

Thanks, I really should have contacted you before attempting to "Take"
Over" your maintained package! but I got a bit confused with the script
that was recommended to use, so I just manually rebuilt the package!
anyway maybe something for me to look into for future versions.

I currently package for the application Me TV and I thought that I might
learn something, however somewhere I wasn't joining the dots hence my
reason to cancel. Once again thank for the pointer (URL) I will take a
look at it and see just where I was going wrong ;)

No, you didn't take anything. I don't own this package at all. I'm just drive-by merging, like you did. :)
