Bug Description

Binary package hint: virtualbox-ose

I'm using VirtualBox OSE 2.1.4 on an Ubuntu 9.04 (64bit) host.
virtualbox-ose-guest-utils seems to be fully functional on Ubuntu 8.04.2 and 8.10 (both 64bit) guests, but not under either of my Ubuntu 9.04 or 9.10 alpha (also both 64bit) guests. I can resize the display, but the mouse integration doesn't work. The mouse is captured instead. I've double checked that I've installed DKMS, virtualbox-ose-guest-utils and the guestadditions package from the ISO, but still no joy.

Does your /etc/X11/xorg.conf contain the line: Driver "vboxmouse" ?

You can call /usr/share/virtualbox/x11config.pl to add the necessary config options.

The vboxmouse driver wasn't in xorg.conf. Running that script adds the driver and solves the problem, thanks.

It would be good if the VirtualBox mouse driver was automatically enabled.
Mouse integration worked without manually modifying the xorg.conf in previous versions of Ubuntu, so I regard this as a regression.
