Unable to create DVD with DeVeDe 3.14.0-0ubuntu1

Binary package hint: devede

when trying to make a DVD from an AVI file, I get the error message "menu generation failed"

the output from the command line says:

Cannot find codec 'mpeg2video' in libavcodec...

Apparently libavcodec-unstripped-52 is not installable without forcing. It conflicts with a bunch of packages.
This system is fully updated at the time I'm writing this. (Mon Aug 24 18:19:16 GMT 2009)
