Bug Description

Binary package hint: diff-ext

Overview:
When you just installed diff-ext and try to compare two (or three) files from the context menu Compare entry in Nautilus, you get no result.

Steps to reproduce:
– Fresh install ofdiff-ext,
– Select two (or three) files in Nautilus,
– Open context menu,
– Select compare.

Actual result:
Nothing happens

Expected result:
Open the installed compare editor (meld for instance).

Additional informations:
– Downloading the sources, you could see that since hardy, meld has been added in the recommended package to install with diff-ext, but that is not the default choice (kdiff3 is (found in diff-ext.schemas.in)).
– gconf is used for the configuration of the default comparison app, and there is also a GUI in the Development applications menu.

A small patch correcting the problem. Just a modification of the gconf diff-ext schema default values.

This bug was fixed in the package diff-ext - 0.2.3-3ubuntu2

---------------
diff-ext (0.2.3-3ubuntu2) karmic; urgency=low

  * debian/patches/use_meld_by_default.patch:
   - The package already Recommends meld so should use it by default.
     Also changing the Reccommend to kdiff3 would pull in QT/KDE stuff
     for a Nautilus extension. Thanks to PomCompot. (LP: #412382)
  * debian/{control, rules, README.source}: Add quilt magic.
