Bug Description

In X, there is a Baekmuk font for Korean fonts. But it is So ugly. and language-selector has configuration for beautiful korean fonts like Unfonts and ttf-alee. But it didn't install defaultly when i installed from cd. (and live cds.) i hope language-support-ko depend on ttf-unfonts so that there will be not needed install extra fonts for korean environment

Confirm this problem. Whole reason of ubuntu-ko providing the ko_KR fontconfig file to language-selector is to improve displaying quality for Korean fonts out of the box. But, unless ttf-unfonts and ttf-alee are installed out of the box, it's half way done.

Please do something for this problem such as finding/changing proper package(s) to fix this problem if language-support-ko isn't the package.

Can you please clarify? As far as I understood, we should do the following:

  * Completely drop ttf-baekmuk from ubuntu-desktop
  * Add ttf-alee and/or ttf-unfonts as ubuntu-desktop dependencies, so that they get installed everywhere.

(likewise for kubuntu and edubuntu).

Is that what you meant? Also, why do we need to replace baekmuk with two different package? One (alee or unfonts) is fine, but two needs much more CD space, which we do not have.

it is not necessary to remove baekmuk from ubuntu-desktop, but baekmuk is
not a beautiful font for korean.(it is ugly..)
it is recommend that using unfonts instead of baekmuk.(ttf-alee is also good
fonts but it doesn't have sans or serif fonts for korean.)

different package? One (alee or unfonts) is fine, but two needs much

Tha nks for this additional information. We may still have to drop baekmuk because of the size constrains on the cd:

baekmuk is 11,5mb deb
unfonts is 17,1mb

That adds ~5,6mb to the cd.

Yes, I can add both fonts to the l-support-ko package easily.

So, let's add the dependencies to the l-s package and re-discuss the inclusion to the CD for edgy.
