totem does not close properly, the new software installer is not able to install all that it is showing

well , i am trying to be as detailed as possible .

usually i use 8.10 Intrepid ibex distribution.after installation i click on any mp3 file and totem opens , says that i needs some codecs-g steamer bad and g streamer ugly , i allow it to install them -then it starts to play the files well smoothly . but in this version,after installation of the codec , it again says that there is no codec for playing that mp3 file . so i tried to close it - but it aint closing either , so i had to kill(force quit ) that application. this is happening every time i open the totem- but for your information vlc is working very smoothly in9.10 beta

Bug description:
Binary package hint: software-center

after installing the audio codecs ( it itself asked to install) totem fails to play mp3 files. when i close it , it takes time and finally a report saying it needs to force quit is displayed!

the issue seems similar to bug #450946

the issue is indeed the same as bug 450946 and is fixed in Ubuntu-10.04 and 10.10. feel free to report any other bugs you may find.
