Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

I selected "manual partitioning" in Ubiquity and proceeded to the next step. The disk already had an ext3 partition (sda3) and a swap partition (sda5). Both automatically showed up in the next step as / and swap. I proceeded with the installation - it then claimed to be resizing a filesystem. On completition of installation, I discovered that it had resized the NTFS partition (sda2) on the disk and created new ext3 and swap partitions (sda6 and sda7). sda3 and sda5 were untouched. For added amusement, the mkinitramfs resume config referenced /dev/sda5 despite fstab enabling sda7.

And the same thing appears to have just happened on another machine. Daily 20060519. If it's possible to resize the NTFS partition, ubiquity seems to want to do it regardless of what other options are chosen.

Thanks. I'm pretty sure this is basically the same as bug 45543; see my comments there.
