Orriginaly, I have specified the package gdm. But this package have been changed (by someone else) to xspash. Notes that this bug doesn't concern the first ubuntu boot step (only a ubuntu logo screened), but the second ubuntu step (ubuntu+logo+pseudo-progressbar). This second step appears when I restart gdm : that why I have specified the package gdm. The fist step of the ubuntu boot works well because the dual screen isn't already activated (X isn't started). I let this package to be xsplash because I am not a specialist...

The login screen and xsplash should be on the same screen/monitor, because xsplash just uses the default screen. It is strange that they may appear on different screens.

I can confirm this problem on my T61 with Nvidia Drivers and Twinview. The Icon with progress bar is displayed on the left screen (laptop LCD). The login information is then correctly displayed on the right screen (LCD standalone).

I think I have a fix for this one. I am just wondering against which version should I create a patch?

Ok, I just used bzr trunk and created a patch. It works for me, and I think it will work for others as well.
