Bug Description

When the Debian installer reaches the configuration of xserver-xorg, the video corrupts on my machine and I am incapable of viewing the rest of the installation procedure.

Could this be related to bug #29880 ?

I have the same problem on 2 machines (both with Intel graphics). Since I could not complete the installation procedure, it left me with an unusable system :/

As suggested by Mithrandir (on IRC), I used the "debian-installer/framebuffer=false" in the boot options, and the problem doesnt manifest itself.

When booting up the newly installed OS, the boot splash doesn't appear. I guess that's the result of not enabling framebuffer.

However, X works. I'm guessing something is wrong with the way framebuffer works with the i810 graphics driver ? How can one debug that ?

Appending "splash" to the kernel line in GRUB in the newly installed system, shows the usplash without any problems.
