Can't open .doc file with Open Office anymore after Ubuntu 9.10 crashed once more

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

Ubuntu 9.10 crashed, tried to reopen .doc file I had just worked on with open office again, but only empty "untitled" opens. Original file still shows up with 2.9MB in folder but haven't found any way to open it again. Would appreciate urgent help.

This bug was reported against an earlier version of Ubuntu, can you test if it still occurs on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid Lynx)?

If you are the original reporter and can still reproduce the issue on Lucid, please run the following command to refresh the report:

  apport-collect 502369

Bear in mind that you may need to install the python-launchpadlib package from the universe repository. Additionally, when prompted to give apport-collect permissions for Launchpad you will need to give it at least the ability to "Change Non-Private" data as it will be adding information to your bug report.

If you are not the original reporter, please file a new bug report, so we can work with you as the original reporter instead (you can reference bug 502369 in your report if you think it may be related):

We're closing this bug since it is has been some time with no response from the original reporter. However, if the issue still exists please feel free to reopen with the requested information. Also, if you could, please test against the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this confirms the bug is one we may be able to pass upstream for help.
