Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-utils

I opened up gnome-system-log, selected 8 lines in acpid with shift-click then went to edit -> copy. The program then crashed. I haven't been able to reproduce it, but it might have happened because I left the log open for a while (15 minutes) before I copied.

Thanks for your bug report. If you can reproduce please post the output of bug-buddy (the "Inform developers" dialog) here or try with the instructions on http://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace - I couldn't reproduce the bug.

Ok, I figured out how to reproduce it. Open up the log, and go to acpid. Now, lock the screen or something to force the file to update while it is open. Now try selecting several lines of the new input, then go edit -> copy.

The issue was reported upstream already: http://bugs.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=339710 - if you could install libc6-dbg, libgtk2.0-0-dbg, libglib2.0-0-dbg and try again, that'd probably help - which architecture are you on - with that information I could build a debug package of gnome-utils for you.

Which version of gnome-utils do you use? (dpkg -l gnome-utils) - I'll build a dbg package of gnome-utils for this.
