Bug Description

During system upgrade from Karmic to Lucid, I got:

Preparing to replace python-twisted-bin 8.2.0-3 (using .../python-twisted-bin_10.0.0-2ubuntu1_i386.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement python-twisted-bin ...
dpkg: warning: unable to delete old directory '/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/twisted/test': Directory not empty
dpkg: warning: unable to delete old directory '/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/twisted/python': Directory not empty
dpkg: warning: unable to delete old directory '/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/twisted/protocols': Directory not empty
dpkg: warning: unable to delete old directory '/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/twisted': Directory not empty

After the upgrade was finished, I still have:

/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/twisted/plugins/dropin.cache

Since Python 2.5 is no longer installed, this is wrong.

dpkg does not know about this file:

dpkg -S /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/twisted/plugins/dropin.cache
dpkg: /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/twisted/plugins/dropin.cache not found.

FWIW, dropin.cache is generated by Twisted.

This bug was fixed in the package twisted - 10.0.0-2ubuntu2

twisted (10.0.0-2ubuntu2) lucid; urgency=low

  * Remove all plugin cache files before rebuilding the cahce files
    for the installed python versions. LP: #558443.
