Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-media

On Dove, I've unmuted the microphone, and the volume is sufficient for recording. When I record with gnome sound recorder, I can see the microphone volume bar move while I talk, but if I have the format set to .ogg, I hear nothing upon playback. If I change the format to any of the other 3 (.flac, .wav, or .spx), then I can play it back and hear the audio fine.

Added testing info. Recording in ogg file format fails completely, recording in spx format is truncated after the first 2 seconds. Recording in wav and flac formats work fine.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the stable release - Oneiric Ocelot. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.
