Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-mplayer
ubuntu lucid 32bit, latest stable+proposed updates
When starting gnome-mplayer, it sets its volume to the same level as global pulseaudio volume.
For example, if my global volume is 50%, gnome-mplayer's is also 50% (which, combined, gives 25% of full volume).
Steps to reproduce:
1. lower your system volume to a very low value
2. turn up your speakers to compensate
3. start gnome-mplayer, observe that you don't hear anything anyway
Expected result:
gnome-mplayer should start with 100% volume (so that its output is at system volume's level) or with the value from last run.
What happens instead:
gnome-mplayer copies system volume and makes its sound output more silent than you want.
