Bug Description

Binary package hint: dvdrip

I tried to encode a dvd and got the following error message :

Command exits with failure code:
Command: mkdir -m 0775 -p '/Big/DVD/1000milliards/tmp' && cd /Big/DVD/1000milliards/tmp && mkdir -p /Big/DVD/1000milliards/avi/001 && execflow -n 19 transcode -H 10 -a 0 -x vob -i \/Big\/DVD\/1000milliards\/vob\/001\/ -w 2345,50 -b 192,0,2 -s 2.424 --a52_drc_off --use_rgb -k -f 25.000 -Y -5,20,-5,14 -Z 786x442 -y divx4 -o /Big/DVD/1000milliards/avi/001/1000milliards-001.avi --progress_meter 2 --progress_rate 25 --avi_limit 9999 -J extsub=2:4:0:0:0 && echo EXECFLOW_OK

Output: transcode: unrecognized option '--use_rgb'
'transcode -h | more' shows a list of available command line options.

Ok, obviously newer transcode versions do not support the --use_rgb option anymore.

dvd::rip uses this option when you clip your video on odd boundaries (5 pixels on top/bottom in your case).

For a quick workaround: change your clipping to even values (e.g. 4 or 6 pixels).

Anyway I'll try to find a proper solution for the problem and will post it here.

Here is a patch which should fix the problem, even if you use odd clipping boundaries. It's against 0.98.11, but should apply to 0.98.10 as well.

Please test it and report whether this solves the problem for you. Then the next version 0.98.12 will contain this patch.

I have ubuntu 10.04 LTS - Lucid Lynx and still have this issue
but I do have the latest versions of all these elements like dvd::rip/transcode?

I'll go for even boundaries...
