Bug Description

Binary package hint: base-installer

I have an IBM T-43 laptop. I am unable to install the copy of Edgy Eft Knot 3 I downloaded from the following page on 9/21/06.

The first thing I noticed that was wrong was when booting up off the CD, the following error printed out on the black screen:

udevd-event[46...serio2/bus" failed

Where the "..." is, there is a bunch of stuff I was unable to write down during the time the error message was on the screen.

Despite that error, the CD booted me into Ubuntu. I double clicked the Install item on the desktop, but the installer froze up after I told it that I wanted to wipe out my whole disk to install. It just sat there spinning for a really long time.

If there is any more info I can get you that will help, let me know. Thanks for what has been a great product when I can actually get it installed!

Your installer hang is also bug 58500, and is fixed in the Edgy beta release.
