Bug Description

Binary package hint: apport

As you can see in the screenshot attached, the notification bubble and the apport's dialog contains
strings that appears in English in my Spanish desktop. Some of these strings can't be translated because it isn't into the apport Rosetta's template:

https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/edgy/+source/apport/+pots/apport/es/+translate

The strings are:

"Crash report detected"

"A application has crashed on your system (now or in the past). Click on the notification icon to display details."

And there's one string that is translated into Rosetta, and the translation is in the apport.mo file, but appears untranslated anyway:

"Sorry, %s closed unexpectedly."

This is the first string in the Rosetta's template, and is perfectly translated, and its translation is in apport.mo:

ricardo@yuggoth:~ $ strings -eS /usr/share/locale-langpack/es/LC_MESSAGES/apport.mo | grep unexpe
Sorry, %s closed unexpectedly.
Sorry, the program "%s" closed unexpectedly.
ricardo@yuggoth:~ $ strings -eS /usr/share/locale-langpack/es/LC_MESSAGES/apport.mo | grep Disculpe
Disculpe, %s se cerró inesperadamente.
Disculpe, el programa «%s» se cerró inesperadamente.
ricardo@yuggoth:~ $

The notification bubble is from update-notifier, not from apport.

Also, can you please use my daily langpacks for edgy to check whether it's translated now?

deb http://people.ubuntu.com/~pitti/langpacks/daily/edgy ./

On the first issue..
- The title "Crash report detected" is not translated in the
'update-notifier' package.

Paul is right. The strings:

"Crash report detected"

"A application has crashed on your system (now or in the past). Click on the notification icon to display details."

are not translated (even with pitti's langpacks) because they are not in Rosetta.

Please trust an ubuntu developer to pick the correct packge. It is *really* update-notifier.
