No grub menu after upgrading from dapper to edgy

Bug Description

Binary package hint: grub

I did a dist-upgrade from Dapper to Edgy-beta. In general it went smoothly. Upon rebooting, I now longer have a grub screen, but rather get a screen full of random characters and then it automatically continues to boot Linux (I have a Windows partition, so prior to the upgrade there was a opportunity to select boot option).

If you comment out the line beginning with 'splashimage', does that fix it for you?

Probably best to close this one - too old to reproduce the issue now. Thanks!
