Amarok- Annoying habit of skipping through songlist rapidly

Bug Description

If Amarok encounters any output engine and sound subsystem issues, and others, it will rapidly skip through each song in the playlist, spamming the OSD and making the UI slow to react for some time.

This behaviour is extremely annoying, and in the case of an engine being unable (for whatever reason) to be able to play anything at all, the playlist should stop, so the matter can be corrected instead of spinning through and slowing down the whole machines UI.

To be clear - things happen, and underlying engines will occasionally fail or be misconfigured. My issue is that Amarok should perhaps handle this with somewhat more grace.

I have had this problem on Xine on Breeze, Dapper and Edgy. The problem will be such that xine (i believe) will stop reaction to amarok. It will try to keep playing and just hop from song to song, not playing it but going to the next one and the next on the current playlist. It *should* stop and give the user output rather than attempt to keep playing the files. Normally, if I wait a few minutes or rescan my collection, it will work again.

I think you would have a better chance of getting this fixed if you submitted a bug to bugs.kde.org

If you do, please give us a link back to it so we can track it here. Thanks
