Bug Description

The new package libqt0-ruby1.8-qt4 version 1.4.6-0ubuntu1 does not contain rbrcc, a Ruby resource compiler tool which is part of the Ruby Qt4 bindings.

This tool is for example needed to build examples/graphicsview/collidingmice:

$ make
rbrcc -name mice mice.qrc -o qrc_mice.rb
make: rbrcc: Command not found
make: *** [qrc_mice.rb] Error 127

Thanks a lot for the debdiff. My apologies that it has taken so long to be reviewed. Would you mind respinning to apply against gutsy, rather than edgy? In addition to the change already made the Maintainer should be adjusted as documented at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebianMaintainerField. I have unsubscribed ubuntu-universe-sponsors pending this adjustment. Please resubscribe for upload once complete.

I think libqt0-ruby1.8-qt4 (1.4.6-0ubuntu1) is now obsoleted by libqt4-ruby1.8 (1.4.7-4).
libqt4-ruby1.8 is not affected from this bug and also follows the Debian-Maintainer-Field Spec.

But is this really the case? If yes than libqt4-ruby1.8 should probably have 'replaces' set against libqt0-ruby1.8-qt4
and the later should be removed from the archive.

Thanks a lot for finding that conflict. I believe you to be entirely correct (at least the two packages seem to have the same upstream, and result in the same files). I'll file a separate bug for the removal of libqt-ruby-qt4. I'm rejecting this bug, as it will not be fixed (except by purging the buggy package), and it doesn't apply to libqt4-ruby1.8.
