install ubuntu in vmware

which installation methd do you use (liveCD, alternativeCD, net install, other...)? Also, where do you see this error? a screenshot might be useful (for me to triage this). thanks :)

I have windows XP Home and I have installed GSX VMWARE 3.1
I have created a virtual machine to install UBUNTU 6.06.01 by ISO file downloaded from Linux Pro (italian mounthly newspaper).
I see the error in a little windows.
To have the screenshot I must reinstall in next days.
the some iso file function correctly if the partition is real and not virtual.
