I have exactly the same problem with Edgy up-to-date and a ffmpeg's .dvd file (avi codec) created with Blender.

If I go to the directory where Blender are creating the video, totem tumbnailer crash.

seb, I tried apport-retrace on the report, and neither your stacktrace, nor the generated report tells me why this segfault comes from libxine1. For forwarding it upstream, I would need to supply a complete backtrace, including the line number, preferably with values of parameters and locals. Could you perhaps tell me how to get this information?

status: Unconfirmed → Needs Info

Sebastien Bacher (seb128) wrote :

video_out.c:1381 is a line number no? That might be some libc bug, the backtrace has just no totem function so I reassigned to next likely place, libxine, since the crash happens to vo_get_property

uh, my bad. need to investigate this further, and see if there is an somehow related bug at upstream about this

I think I have similar bug, but in my case video file is not incomplete, but corrupted. This happens in totem-video-thumbnailer but since I have totem-xine installed and backtrace says it's libxine fault, I'm adding report here.
Please correct me if I should file it for another package.

Religion easily has the best bullshit story of all time. Think about it.
Religion has convinced people that there's an invisible man…living in the
sky. Who watches everything you do every minute of every day. And the
invisible man has a list of ten specific things he doesn't want you to do.
And if you do any of these things, he will send you to a special place, of
burning and fire and smoke and torture and anguish for you to live forever,
and suffer, and burn, and scream, until the end of time. But he loves you.
He loves you. He loves you and he needs money.

Thank you for your efforts to contact me. I do not recall the specific circumstances. I have recently upgraded my motherboard & memory, upgraded to Ubuntu 7.10 and am experimenting with getting this configuration fully functional.

The government cannot suppress the information on direct un-apportioned taxes anymore. The government's fraudulent claim that the prohibition was overturned by the 16th Amendment, is rebutted by the STEWARD case, 24 years after the 16th Amendment was passed. Nothing has changed that since 1937.The last direct apportioned tax was in 1861.

No direct un-apportioned tax confirmed by the US Supreme Court rulings in CHAS. C. STEWARD MACH. CO. v. DAVIS, 301 U.S. 548, 581-582(1937)
