Hi Dana thanks for your report,

could you send us this files generated at the moment of the installation?

/var/log/installer/syslog,
/var/log/syslog,
/var/log/partman

Also can you tell us at which step and what percentage the installer was when it failed??

I'm sorry but the installation screwed up the partition on my HDD and I
used Partition Magic to restore my drive back to NTFS and I suppose
those files are gone to cyberspace.
I had initially tried to install Ubuntu to my 2gb cruzer micro and it
reached 15% and crashed, then I tried installing it to a 2 gb SD card
and the same thing happened. So I decided to try it on my 40 GB HDD and
allowed a 23 GB partition. The installation progressed to 66% then
crashed.

Maybe the iso file I downloaded is corrupt or the cd disk burn had
errors??? I dont know.

Regards, Dana

Unlikely, this error have been seen elsewhere.
But you could boot with it, and select verify CD in the menu.

Ok, thanks anyway. Removing 'Needs info' then.

Thanks for your report. This particular error is often due to a faulty hard disk. It may help to check whether the hard disk is old and in need of replacement, or to move the system to a cooler environment.

Edgy's installer will notice this error and display the above message.
