Bug Description

The Edgy installer crashes and locks computer at 56% Copying files on a Macbook Pro.

Did you check the disc for defects? You may have been burning it on too high of a speed which sometimes can cause defects in the CD.

Can you provide /var/log/syslog and var/log/partman?

Have you tried it again? Does it always freeze in the same place?

I burned a new CD at a slower speed (8x) and the same thing happens. I will try to extract a /var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman.

No /var/log files were created.

The altnerative installer makes copies all the files fails at 76% when configuring Gnome.

This bug is fixed/gone in the Edgy final release.

This would have been the squashfs glitch we fixed just before the final release. Thanks for your confirmation that it's fixed in this case.
