British English locale not set in Kubuntu Edgy RC

Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

When installing Kubuntu Edgy Release Candidate.

Choose English as the language, UK English as the keyboard setting.

KDE locale is set to 'default' with US English settings. This can be changed manually, though it's not very polished or user-friendly to have to do that.

System locale is set to en_US.UTF-8

Under Gnome Ubuntu (Edgy) live CD install, system locale is set to en_GB.UTF-8.

This problem did not occur in Kubuntu Dapper.

The keyboard setting isn't relevant. What city did you select on the timezone page? That determines the locale.

Please attach /var/log/syslog to this bug (or /var/log/installer/syslog if you've already completed the installation and rebooted).

I set the city to London. I've attached /var/log/installer/syslog as requested.

I noticed this in the file:

Oct 19 21:01:23 ubuntu localechooser: info: LANGNAME=English
Oct 19 21:01:23 ubuntu localechooser: info: line=English;0;en;US;en_US.UTF-8;UTF
-8;;kbd=lat0-sun16(utf8)

I have the same issue using the alternate cd. I wasn't asked for a timezone but was asked for my keyboard layout.

Keyboard was set to US English, money to $, paper to A4 and units to metric.

Time zone was set to Europe/Guernsey!
