Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

I've just installed ubuntu 6.10 and when tried to surf the net I encounter this error: some images load correctly and others don't. If a image doesn't load, you can right click and select 'view image' (i'm spanish, so i guess that's the option on the english version) and the result is:

No se puede mostrar la imagen “http://fluxbox.sourceforge.net/images/bar_left.jpg” porque contiene errores.
(The image "..." is not showing because it has errors... or something like that)

It seems related to the JPG format, PNGs and GIFs load without problem.

In example, these are two sites where it happens.

Can you see that images for now? I did a try and i the image was showed perfectly. But the fluxbox.sf is too slow!!

As web developer, sometimes i get that errors like you posted. All the times, the error was in the image itself. Something like bad formed jpeg. Even with dapper...

    Thanks for your answer,

    I've been having the problem with the JPGs for a few days, but suddenly
all began to work fine. I don't know what happened and maybe it was a local
problem. I mean the speed issue is not really the very probable cause (cable
here and happened with google and lot of webs too not only fluxbox), but as
long as my /home directory was not erased with the new install... maybe it
could be the cause.
    So, anyway, feel free to cancel that bug report and sorry for the
inconveniences: not knowing the cause nor the solution I guess I did an
early report, :(
