Bug Description

When installing Edgy from the live CD, when selecting mount locations for partitions, I get the error 'No root partition' selected even though a root partition is selected.

My partition scheme is
hda1 Not mounted (contains my current 6.06 install)
hda2 "extended"
hda3 "/" (reformat selected)
hda5 swap (reformat selected)
hda6 /myth
sda1 /myth/tv

Had another go and it looks like it works, if I delete and recreate the destination partition.

I'll also attach a debug log from the failed attempt.

Thanks for your report. This appears to be the same as bug 67130.

I'm seeing the same problem. I'm trying to do an install on an HP R3000Z (AMD64) laptop that currently has Fedora Core 5 and 6 as well as WinXP on it. I'm trying to replace FC5 with Ubuntu 6.10. I've selected the FC5 partition to use as / for Ubuntu and set the reformat box. I'm getting a "No root file system error". All Linux current Linux Partitions are EXT3. Here is df from FC6,
