Bug Description
A Toshiba Tera M2 laptop installed with 6.10 does not restart properly.
It is an Intel Pentium Mobile, 1.8Ghz with 512MB RAM and an NVIDEA GeForce FX GO5200 32M/64M graphical card. On the laptop Windows XP Pro and Ubuntu 6.10 are installed.
During the restart process the graphical screen can be seen bringing the system down but at the end of or close to the end of the process the screen goes completely blank and the laptop does not restart until the power button is pressed.
The install was done from the Live CD; after install the universe and multiverse repos were enabled, and the update/upgrade done (there was nothing to upgrade though).
I did not have the problem previously with the Breezy and Dapper versions of Ubuntu, both of which still display the expected behaviour when reinstalled on this machine.
This is possibly the same issue as bug #58503.
