Bug Description
We found that the following lines are present in the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file on the LiveCD:
BusID "PCI:0:0:5"
UseFBDev "true"
This causes the X startup to fail with an FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO "invalid argument" property. Removing BOTH of them allows "startx" to bring up the installer.
There is no good reason to specify the BusID if there is only one card, the radeon driver and X.org can adequately find the card it wants.
UseFBDev is disabled by default in X.org 7.1 as far as I am aware; there is also no good reason to use it (all the drivers work just fine in cooperation with the framebuffer console anyway)
This is in addition to cards on the Pegasos AGP board not being detected. I used a single PCI Radeon 7000 for this test, with no other PCI devices attached.
(Configuration is done by the xserver-xorg binary package, which is part of the xorg source package, hence my change.)
